Good news Everyone !

This is a guide about the experience and levels in lineage II. This guide is made for new players but also the experienced players will find many useful information. The guide shows the experience needed to achieve the different levels and a description of many items, skills and mechanics of how the experience works. I hope you enjoy it. All the information shown in this guide is gathered from the test server.

What is experience? Experience points are the points necessary to level up your character. When you get a certain amount of experience points, your character will achieve the next level. The more level your character is more strong and greater skils it has. The experience points are mostly obtained by hunting mobs.

And SP? SP means Skill Points. The skill points are the points necessary to learn skills. They are always earned when you earn experience.

Experience from Level 1 to 60

At this section is shown the total experience needed to achieve the levels 1 to 60 and the experience needed to level up at each level.

Experience from Level 61 to 82

At this section is shown the total experience needed to achieve the levels 61 to 82 and the experience needed to level up at each level. Also there is an estimation of the SP earned and the time needed to level up for each level.

Experience table

Level: Shows the actual level.

Total Exp: Shows the total points of experience (Exp) necessary to achieve the actual level. (The experience points you need to level up from level 1 to the selected level).

Exp to next level: Shows the experience (Exp) necessary to achieve the next level. (The experience points you need to level up from selected level to the next level).

Average Exp and SP per mob: Those columns show the average experience (Exp) and skill points (SP) given by killing a normal mob of the selected level. Normal mob means a mob without any skills or reinforcements (like strong P.def, Hit points (HP) x2 or resist arrow).

Av. mobs need: Assuming that you kill normal mobs of your same lvl alone how many do you need to achieve next level.

Average SP: The average SP you acquire by levelling up from the actual level to the next one. It assumes the normal ratio of 1 skill point for 37 experience (1/37). Note that this ratio can increase if you go to some dungeons (In Lair of Antharas (LOA) the ratio is aprox. 1/34) or Raid Boss (RB) but also can decrease by using Over-Hit (OH).

Buffs to lvl up: Assuming that you earn 4kk experience on each buff round (20 minutes buff), how many buff rounds do you need to achieve the next level.

Average hours: Assuming that you make 3 buff rounds each hour, how many hours do you need to achieve the next level.

Penalty Experience and Skill points (SP)

Party Penalty: members level difference.

When in party the players with higher level will get more experience than the lower ones (independent of the other penalty's). This table is made for two characters in party assuming that normal exp from a mob is 100% of the exp,

Lvl diff % exp   Lvl diff % exp
15 60,52   0 65,00
14 77,69   -1 64,16
13 76,72   -2 63,31
12 75,76   -3 62,45
11 74,81   -4 61,58
10 73,86   -5 60,70
9 72,93   -6 59,81
8 72,01   -7 58,91
7 71,10   -8 57,99
6 70,19   -9 57,07
5 69,30   -10 16,84
4 68,42   -11 16,56
3 67,55   -12 16,27
2 66,69   -13 15,98
1 65,84   -14 15,69
0 65,00   -15 0,00

The party always earn the same experience if the maximum level difference is 9 or less levels. The table shows how that experience is given to a member depending on the level difference from him and the other party member. (Note that in the experiment only was used 2 party members)

Example 1

A char lvl 66 with a char lvl 64 in duo party: 66 lvl will get 66,69% of the mob experience and the lvl 64 will get 63,31% of the experience of the mob. Total party exp is 130%.

Example 2

A char lvl 70 with a char lvl 78 in duo party: 70 lvl will get 57,99% of the mob experience and the lvl 78 will get 72,01% of the experience of the mob. Total party exp is 130%.

Example 3

A char lvl 67 with a char lvl 78 in duo party: 70 lvl will get 16,56% of the mob experience and the lvl 78 will get 74,81% of the experience of the mob. Total party exp is 91,37%.

Hunting Penalty: mobs level difference.

When hunting lower level mobs there is the following experience penalty:

Level Difference Experience (%)
1 100,00
2 100,00
3 100,00
4 100,00
5 100,00
6 83,33
7 69,44
8 57,87
9 48,23
10 40,19
11 0,00
12 0,00

Death penalty and Resurrection experience recovery

Death Penalty

Upon death your character will lose experience points equal to the 4% of the exp necessary to achieve the next level. Therefore there is some exceptions:

Clan War: When you got killed by a member of a clan who has war declared you will loose only 25% of the normal experience lost upon death. (1% of total exp to level up).

image.png.809d6e5b2673a5cd4979ecf462b52d39.pngDeath's deal certificate 50%
The amount of experience loss while death reduced by 50%. Temporaly item which lasts 1/7/30 days.Can be bought at Nostalgia NPC

image.png.d9a52283a804c390073a38ed29a18582.pngDeath's deal certificate 80%
The amount of experience loss while death reduced by 80%. Temporaly item which lasts 1/7/30 days. Only from events.

Resurrection experience recovery

You can get back experience after death by getting resurrected by another player:

Item 737.jpg Scroll of Resurrection
Magic scroll that resurrects a death character.

Item 3936.jpg Blessed Scroll of Resurrection
Magic scroll that resurrects a dead character and restores his or her XP completely.

Skill 1016 1.jpg Skill: Resurrection
Resurrects a corpse. In addition, restores about 0/20/30/40/50/55/60/65/70% of XP. (Depending on skill level. Also the amount restored can be increased to a maximum of 20% by increasing the WIT stat).

Clan Halls and Castles can restore experience up to 50% for Clan Halls and 60% for Castles.

Some Skill points experiments

In this section was registered the number of skills that a character learns at each level and the SP cost of each skill. This was made for two classes, Bounty hunter (spoiler) and Swordsinger (SWS). The results were:

This info is gathered from test server

BTW the table says 2233,4 Milion exp to get from 77 to 78, so 1% is like 22,33 Milion exp.

Thanks for checking.

Budesca you're sent from heaven man, again such a top quality guide.

But for completeness you could also mention the legacy XP items like puff.png Sun Warmth (increases EXP/SP gain by 7% for 20 minutes), Golden Egg.png Golden Egg (Consuming this egg will grant a bonus 4% XP and 16% SP gain while hunting), br_valentine_cake_3_i00.png Valentine's Cake (+2% EXP and 14% SP for 20 minutes) etc. (I don't recall all of them, but the first event's rewards were giving only SP so there aren't that many of them)... It doesn't serve much practical use anymore but knowledge is power :P Also check the experience curve please, I can't see it :S

Now i'm thinking about some questions not shown at the guide and I invite anyone to answer them. They are:

  • Which is the maximum experience (%) restored upon resurrection?
  • Which is the maximum bonus EXP / SP you can get?
  • How does, in detail, over-hit work?
  • How much EXP / SP you get in raids (How works bonus on raids and CC).
  • Someone has any doubt or question?

@Budesca Hi

could you upload a chart that shows the rest of levels that are not showed in the second bar chart? (from 78 to 82) using the numbers you got in the table above, to check the difference visually

thank you ?

Penalty Experience and Skill points (SP)

Party Penalty: members level difference.

When in party the players with higher level will get more experience than the lower ones (independent of the other penalty's). If there is a player higher than 9 levels than you, you will get no experience

Here it needs a correction, it would be good to post the first table from this link: https://eu.4gameforum.com/threads/638688/

the lowest lvl no longer earns experience in a party if the highest member of the party is 15 levels above. For each lvl difference you get between 2-3% penalty, but from 9 lv dif to 10 lv dif there is a big drop in xp: from 78% to 23%(+55% more penalty), being that the reason why ppl dont do partys with more lvls difference

Thank you for your view! I added experience graphic:

image.thumb.png.af4d83732a3d8a198eda47b35599ea02.png

And maked a experience table showing the level difference and the experience earned by the party member (assuming only 2 ppl in party).

Lvl diff % exp   Lvl diff % exp
15 60,52   0 65,00
14 77,69   -1 64,16
13 76,72   -2 63,31
12 75,76   -3 62,45
11 74,81   -4 61,58
10 73,86   -5 60,70
9 72,93   -6 59,81
8 72,01   -7 58,91
7 71,10   -8 57,99
6 70,19   -9 57,07
5 69,30   -10 16,84
4 68,42   -11 16,56
3 67,55   -12 16,27
2 66,69   -13 15,98
1 65,84   -14 15,69
0 65,00   -15 0,00

Important ! The party always earn the same experience if the maximum level difference is 9 or less levels. The table shows how that experience is given to a member depending on the level difference from him and the other party member. (Note that in the experiment only was used 2 party members)

Enjoy!

Is there a good way to get more SP? I feel like everywhere you look you get XP bonuses, whereas the SP bonuses are crap.

Or does the SP problem solves itself due to higher and higher exp curves, at higher levels?
