Which debuffs are prevented by puri/chant (or even mental shield) of the next ones: Arrest Lightning strike Stun Fear Or some other ones?
-
I don't mind that as long as it will be worth it leveling a character that serves as a pure aggro meatshield in mass pvp. I suppose its almost same with every tank, they need party to xp, but i want to choose the most defensive one and spend my time on it and invest every piece of gear for the rest years of me playing on server.
-
Thank you, this makes things a little bit more clear. And to be honest no, I want to go TK and trying to find reasons to, because I thought pala looked better in terms of defence thats why I make refferences to each of his skills and ask for comparisons that I may have missed.
-
I do not see the point if this phrase, why would you say that.? I'm trying to compare 2 tank classes purely in aspect of defence, if my point of view is wrong please let me know. As I said I am noob when it comes to tanks.
-
Thank you for your answer and excuse my noobiness in tanks, but most of these skills feel more like "convinience" stuff to me, than actual defences. Shield aegis is great, hands down. Life cubic -> paladin has actual heal whenever he wants Root/arrest -> sure cool, although paladin has mass shackle too and stun (also stun whenever he wants, unlike waiting for root cubic, and stun is nice against any class mage or meelee). Still none of which is actual ++ in defence Guard stance -> paladin has majesty (which doesn't give shield def though). I do not know which one gives more pdef though, but at least one of them can stay up forver because it does not drain mp. On top of all that, paladin has angelic (although just for a minute) and +7 con by nature.
-
Why is TK considered tankiest of all, since human race (aka paladin) has same defensive passives + higher con (+ majesty, angelic etc def actives)? I'm looking to make a real tank, not SK/DA off-tanks, and am facing this dilemma. So the question is more like pally vs TK in terms of endurance. (PS please do not count shield of sacrifice as a "pros and cons", I'm way to far from that skill or any 78+ skills of both classes)

This was what skelth thought of too, and it's shutting down. A server should not be owned by anyone, that's why games like WoW survived and L2 didn't. Of course that's a topic for another discussion - bare in mind though, that the 40v40 fights are only the center of your attention, and the 3 other big sides, any game should consider its population growth too, if it wants to keep going, otherwise club will also end up like skelth, 10 people controlling everything, no one caring to compete or start over. Again, your opinion is biased and it shows from the examples of MOH players you use to express it. You just can't be objective on a matter when the only thing you consider are the highest geared players. Not to mention how damage is decided among other capabilities of a said class - e.g. necro damage remains insane, despite the class having CCs and better utility than EE/BP (not mentioning PP/SE cuz they at least have root). Certainly MOH should not be enhanced to match a necro's damage, that's not my point, and you are right without a doubt about this: My disagreement lies on your biased opinion, and on the fact that out of all the classes you could ask for a nerf, you ask for the one that affects you gameplay the most - not good politics sir.

There's a reason why oly is not swarmed by MOH class farmers. I'd let you think of this yourself, but judging by your thought process it seems too narrow to do so. Not only are MOH classes heavily gear dependent, there are waaaayyyy stronger farmer choices for oly (that should prolly face a nerf). But since it's the MOH you can't deal with, you decided to create this mess like a child. You call GMs to take a look at oly matches, but do you consider that under-geared elders/bps are also gonna been taken into consideration? Even if MOH gefs nerfed, you will still be losing to FW due to their insanely high gear compared to yours - what's next, asking for epics nerf? Lowering damage of MOH will only ruin the game for casual, out of RS span, players.

So if you are not taken into parties how do you "play" ? ? Of course solo is fine and also what I'm looking for, but for higher levels?! If you are not taken into parties, then how do you proceed after a point?
-
Thank you for your answer friend! Just one more thing about the PP, does anyone really want an active PP at this time of the game? I mean I know the server is pretty old so almost everyone has a very high level boxed PP. Don't get me wrong I said I'll be playing solo for the most part, but you know sieges later on and baium/zaken, or occasionally TOI groups - I just don't want to be overlooked.

This always hits hard, I keep on leaving this game but end up coming back - it's just so many teen times memories. I wanna live a part of it again, like the old times, when we weren't rushing the game but were legit enjoying it. I made up my mind on starting this "old" game again here, the only viable classic server that could at least give me some vintage feeling (I hope?!). Although this time I won't care about competition, hell I may even play 3 hours per week. Now why do you all care about this? Of course you don't. But here's a good question, which class should I choose to be able to travel back in time when all classes truly mattered, and the race had actually big impact on playstyle. Bare in mind that I will not have a cp and will most likely farm solo or with a party if I find any by chance (will also try to avoid boss hunting as so to make the game personally feel the way it used to back in the days), maybe even without a boxed buffer, just pure me and my adventurer (not the class). I was thinking of DA but humans never appealed to me - neither did orcs. Maybe a TK but I had had enough light elves. Maybe a SK, but will anyone really consider me a tank when it comes to random partying? I will not go for DDs. But again maybe a BD could do, but won't it take long to like this class? Who knows, hit me up with ideas fellas! Sincerely (PS: What's more I would even love to main a bishop or prophet, but is it possible to solo them? I never tried before, but dear Lord I'd so much love to hear that a driven and not boxed prophet is actually a "looked for" thing in parties)
