Okay, over the past 3 days I've been racking my brain trying to figure these problems out. These problems have been plaguing since DL and extracting. What I've done so far to fix these issues: reformat hard drive, download the mscv120.dll file and place it into the system folder. After doing this I received the 0xc000007b, so I ran a cmd chkdsk and the issue went away. But, and this is the most annoying, now that I have resolved all the issues, L2 will not launch from either the Launcher.exe inside the Lineage 2 Classic folder or the L2.exe from the system folder. I've tried changing the compatibility, running through all the different versions of windows and service packs, and running the program as admin, still nothing. The windows processing icon starts rolling then a great nothing happens. Program doesn't load, no error messages, nothing prompts me with any clue of what to do next. Anyone else encounter these issues?

- Download Microsoft visual C++ 2013 : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

- Upgrade to lastest directx 9 version : https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=35

- Launch Lineage 2 as a administrator.

- If it's not work then perform a Chkdsk, type chkdsk c: /f /r in CMD (Clic on start and search for "cmd" and Right click it and select "Run as administrator". Windows XP users Click on start > run. In the Run box, type in "cmd" in the box).

- Be sure to have lastest Windows update.

Edit : What about a F.A.Q, i think it will be great if we have one.

Have the same issue.  Did all the steps stated by Banish3d and even manually installed the mcsv files.  Still no luck.  I still get the 0xc000007b error now.

If anyone has any lucky fixing this please let me know.

- Try to disable your Antivirus and Firewall

- Disable UAC : https://www.petri.com/disable-uac-in-windows-7

- Install visual C++ 2005 : https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=5638

If nothing work, i need to know which Windows version you use and a screen with error (full log if possible).

And a another question, can you able to run a another Lineage 2 version?

Got it working.  I don't know how, but it all of the sudden started working this morning.  Yesterday I followed a 0xc00007b error guide to fix the error.  I uninstalled all my visual C++ (x86 and x64) and reinstalled them both with the latest versions.  I did the chkdsk check after and Lineage still would not work.

This morning I got on and saw your reply.  Before I went installed the 2005 version of Visual C++, I went to uninstall my other versions through the control panel.  When I did this I noticed a "Repair" button next to uninstall.  I figured I would try that first.  I used the "Repair" button on both x86 and x64 versions.  Tried to load Lineage classic and it worked.

I already had UAC disabled from before.  I don't have an anti-virus, Windows 7 64, and I can run numerous other versions of Lineage without issue.  That is just FYI for you Banish3d.  Thanks again, because if I wouldn't have went to uninstall my new versions again, I would have not seen the repair button.

Also for everyone else installing C++, I would uninstall the older versions.  I noticed when I first tried to fix this error ever time I installed  a new version, even it was a duplicate of the same one I had, in the control panel under programs it showed I had numerous installed, including a germen version from a fix I tried.  Someone with a little more knowledge of Windows might be able to answer if that makes a difference.
