Kse Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Lineage 2 is a competitive MMORPG where PvP, PK, clan wars, rivalries, and conflicts are an essential part of the game. Players should understand that competitive gameplay may involve trash talk, provocations, insults, arguments, and heated exchanges. Administration does not intervene in ordinary player disagreements, personal disputes, or clan conflicts simply because one side finds another player's words unpleasant or offensive. However, freedom of competitive communication does not extend to serious abuse, threats, significant privacy violations, or other behavior prohibited by these rules. 1. General Communication 1.1. Trash talk, competitive provocations, criticism, ordinary insults, and profanity are permitted, provided they do not violate the restrictions below. 1.2. Being offended, upset, or insulted does not automatically constitute a rule violation. 1.3. Players who wish to avoid unwanted communication are encouraged to use the /block [nick] command. 1.4. Administration is not responsible for resolving personal disagreements, clan rivalries, or conflicts arising from legitimate gameplay. 2. Prohibited Content and Behavior The following restrictions apply to all public in-game chats, including General, Shout, Trade, Global and Hero Chat. 2.1. Discriminatory Abuse Hateful or degrading attacks directed at individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or similar personal characteristics are prohibited. This includes discriminatory slurs used as direct attacks, incitement to hatred or violence, and serious discriminatory harassment. Ordinary criticism or rivalry involving players or clans of different nationalities is not automatically discriminatory abuse. 2.2. Real-Life Threats Credible threats of real-world violence, physical harm, stalking, or other serious harm outside the game are prohibited. Threats concerning in-game PvP, PK, sieges, clan wars, or other legitimate gameplay activities are permitted. 2.3. Personal Information and Privacy The intentional unauthorized disclosure of another person's private information that could reasonably identify, locate, contact, or endanger that person is prohibited. Examples include private addresses, telephone numbers, personal identification documents, private contact details, or combinations of identifying information. The following do not automatically constitute privacy violations: First names without additional identifying information. Character names, including previously used character names. Publicly known nicknames or gaming identities. Ordinary references to other players that do not meaningfully compromise their privacy. The use of any such information in connection with real-life threats, intimidation, or serious targeted harassment may still constitute a violation. Each case will be evaluated based on the information disclosed, the circumstances of its disclosure, and the potential consequences. 2.4. Serious Harassment Sustained, targeted abusive behavior that goes substantially beyond ordinary competitive hostility is prohibited. Examples include: Repeated attempts to intimidate a player through real-world personal information. Persistent abusive contact through alternative characters or accounts specifically created or used to circumvent communication blocks. Coordinated campaigns of serious personal harassment that are not reasonably connected to normal gameplay or clan rivalry. Ordinary insults, disagreements, PvP-related provocations, and clan conflicts do not constitute harassment solely because they are repeated or unwelcome. 2.5. Advertising and Commercial Activity The following are prohibited: Unauthorized commercial advertising. Advertising other gaming projects or servers. Referral links and unsolicited promotional messages. Real Money Trading offers involving game accounts, characters, items, currency, or services where prohibited by server rules. 2.6. Cheats, Bots, and Exploits Promoting, distributing, or providing instructions for the use of prohibited cheats, bots, hacks, or exploits is forbidden. Ordinary discussion of game mechanics, technical issues, suspected bugs, or reporting violations is permitted. 2.7. Staff Impersonation Impersonating a Game Master, administrator, or another official representative of the project, or falsely claiming administrative authority, is prohibited. 2.8. Spam and Chat Disruption Excessive message repetition, flooding, or deliberate attempts to make public communication channels unusable are prohibited. Ordinary competitive exchanges, including heated discussions between rival players or clans, are not considered spam solely because they involve arguments. 3. Chat-Specific Regulations 3.1. Public Chats General, Shout, Trade, Global and Hero Chat are subject to the communication rules listed above. 3.2. Hero/Global Chat Hero/Global Chat follows the same communication rules as other public chats. However, due to its server-wide visibility, violations committed through Hero/Global Chat may receive more severe penalties. Using Hero/Global Chat for ordinary clan rivalry, trash talk, or competitive provocations is permitted. 3.3. Private Messages Administration generally does not intervene in personal disputes or offensive exchanges through private messages. Players are encouraged to use /block [nick] to prevent unwanted communication. Exceptions may be made for serious violations, including credible real-life threats, significant privacy violations, prohibited advertising, or sustained harassment involving deliberate circumvention of communication blocks. 3.4. Party, Clan, and Alliance Chats Communication rules within Party, Clan, and Alliance chats are generally established by their respective leaders. Serious violations involving threats, significant privacy breaches, or other prohibited conduct remain subject to administrative intervention. 3.5. Party Matching Party Matching must be used exclusively for its intended purpose. Trade advertisements, unrelated announcements, spam, and other misuse of Party Matching are prohibited and may result in character restrictions. 4. Player Reports 4.1. Reports must concern behavior that violates an established server rule. Personal dissatisfaction, rivalry, or feeling offended is not sufficient grounds for administrative action. 4.2. Players submitting reports must provide sufficient evidence and context to allow administration to evaluate the alleged violation. Evidence may include screenshots, timestamps, character names, or other relevant information. 4.3. Administration may reject reports based on incomplete, selectively presented, misleading, or insufficient evidence. 4.4. Messages written in different languages will be evaluated according to their actual meaning and context, rather than isolated words or potentially inaccurate translations. 4.5. Deliberately submitting fabricated evidence, knowingly misrepresenting events, or concealing essential context for the purpose of obtaining unjustified punishment against another player is prohibited. Confirmed first-time abuse of the reporting system will generally result in an official warning. Repeated or particularly serious abuse may result in additional penalties. An unsuccessful or unproven report is not automatically considered abuse of the reporting system. 5. Penalties and Administrative Decisions 5.1. Penalties are determined by administration based on the nature and severity of the violation, available evidence, previous offenses, and relevant circumstances. 5.2. Possible penalties include official warnings, temporary chat restrictions, extended chat restrictions, character restrictions, account suspensions, or other appropriate measures. 5.3. Serious violations may result in immediate penalties without prior warning. 5.4. Hero Chat violations may receive increased penalties due to the broader visibility of the messages. 5.5. Administration reserves the right to dismiss reports that do not establish a violation of these rules. 5.6. All rules apply equally to all players, regardless of nationality, language, clan affiliation, or in-game status. 5.7. All penalties are determined by the Administration Team according to the severity and circumstances of the violation. Final decisions rest with the Administration Team. By registering and using a game account, players agree to follow the server rules. 2 1 1 1
