Suggestion: Improve the Supply of Basic Crafting Materials and Revitalize the Crafting System

Suggestion: Improve the Availability of Basic Crafting Materials

There is currently a severe shortage of basic crafting materials on the Dion server.

As a result, crafting B-grade and higher weapons and armor has become extremely difficult.

Some of the required materials can only be obtained from low-level hunting zones. However, since the vast majority of players have already outleveled these areas, farming these materials is no longer a practical option.

Although some materials can be obtained by exchanging Daily Coins, most players need to save their Daily Coins to upgrade their bracelets. Because of this, they cannot afford to spend those coins on crafting materials.

Suggestion

Please consider adding an option to purchase basic crafting materials from an NPC using Adena instead of Daily Coins.

This change would allow players to obtain essential crafting materials without sacrificing their bracelet progression, making the crafting system more accessible and sustainable.

It would also increase the supply of equipment on the server, encourage more crafting, enchanting, item progression, and player trading, creating a healthier and more active in-game economy.

In addition, using Adena as the purchase currency would provide an effective Adena sink, helping remove excess Adena from circulation and contributing to a more stable market and healthier server economy.

If there are concerns that increasing the availability of crafting materials could lead to an oversupply of crafted equipment and reduce the value of monster drops, this could be balanced simply by adjusting the Adena price of the basic crafting materials sold by the NPC.

Increasing the material cost would naturally raise the overall crafting cost, helping maintain the market value of crafted equipment. This would give the server administrators a simple and flexible way to balance the economy while still ensuring that players have reliable access to the materials needed for crafting.

Most importantly, this update would strengthen one of the core gameplay systems instead of allowing it to become obsolete. A healthy crafting system gives players more goals to pursue, creates continuous demand for equipment and materials, and keeps the in-game economy active throughout every stage of the server.

In the long run, these improvements would make the game more enjoyable, keep players engaged for a longer period of time, and ultimately help extend the lifespan and long-term health of the Dion server.

Thank you for taking this suggestion into consideration.

Currently, the majority of players have their main characters at level 80 or higher.

The drop settings need to be adjusted so that these items can be obtained through hunting at the current level range.

On the Talking Island server, there are high-level hunting zones where monsters drop these items in large quantities. However, the Dion server has not been updated to that stage yet, making it impossible for players to obtain them through normal gameplay.

I have urgently checked the database and attached the information I found for your reference.

Please review this issue and consider applying the necessary changes as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support.

Better increase amout of spoiling resourses in Ketra/Varka, Heine Fields

And add Metallic Threads, RMP and CLs to spoil in these loc's

Hello. We talked with San0 about it alot and at the end we don't like idea of everything be in new location. It removes "world" when everything in 1 location with best chances, all quests are there, best exp is there and there are no reason to farm anywhere else, but yes, every new location players suggest to add everything best from older locations or alternative ways to farm something from old locations into a new one.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to discuss this issue.

I understand and agree with your point that concentrating all of the best content in a single high-level hunting area would not be healthy for the game. Keeping older hunting zones relevant is important for preserving the feeling of a living world, and I completely respect that philosophy.

However, I believe the current situation has become a different kind of problem.

Although a small number of new players still join the server from time to time, the vast majority of the player base has already reached level 80 and beyond. Because of this, almost nobody hunts in the old low-level areas anymore. As a result, the basic crafting materials that only drop there have become critically scarce, making them virtually impossible to obtain through normal gameplay.

I believe the availability of these materials should be improved to some extent. Whether that means adding them to appropriate higher-level hunting zones with balanced drop rates, or introducing an alternative source through another system, I think some adjustment is necessary to keep the crafting system healthy and sustainable.

Crafting has always been one of the core features of Lineage II. It would be unfortunate if players were discouraged from using the crafting system simply because the required basic materials are no longer realistically obtainable.

If I remember correctly, older versions of Lineage II had the Manor System, which provided an alternative way to obtain many of these basic crafting materials. Rather than relying on only one solution, perhaps a similar system—or another alternative source of these materials—could also be considered.

I believe this approach would preserve the value of older hunting areas while also ensuring that crafting remains a meaningful and enjoyable part of the game for the long term.

I understand that these decisions require careful consideration, but I sincerely hope you can find a balanced solution that allows players to continue enjoying one of Lineage II's most important systems without compromising the value of the game world.

Thank you again for your time and for considering this suggestion.

Koll,

I largely play on TI and while TI is much better than Dion in this regard largely due to HB. There is still a major issue with base materials that is true. While the Devs point to not have the best drops at the best spots and increase world size, there should be applicable material drops for the grade / level of gear at that grinding location. If A grade drops drop from Heine AoE, then most if not all the materials (compound or base) should drop there or in a similar grinding location that also drops A grade drops (GC, Varka/Ketra)

The list the OP linked is for top level materials and the root of their problem is Thread. Thread is "better" on TI because of HB, but we are still lacking materials. Asofe and mold hardener are also valid points from that list as they are base materials and cannot be combined in any way. If I were to give a rebuttal to the OP its:

Charcoal - SV not that out of bounds for ~80 chars. Need 80 lvl spoiler and get a lot
Crafted Leather / Leather -  Heine AoE drops lots of Animal Skin you can craft leather, and for crafted leather you need thread as above.
High grade suede -  SV + Heine AoE
Cord / Synthetic braid / RMP / Metallic Thread- thread issue as stated
Varnish of Purity -  SV + Heine AoE

Large issues that stem on both servers are drop rates / volume per craft of materials. While thread drops in large volumes on TI in HB you need 15-30k per successful weapon craft (~10K for RMP at 60% or 30% craft rate). Mold hardener is supposed to be a hard rare material but on TI one of the MOST punishing areas in the game (HB desert) so that even new players have no chance to grind there or spoiling varka/ketra on mobs that are not spoil friendly at all.

As new patch is nearing I would ask that the Devs look at the full list of applicable base materials and make sure that ALL base materials drop somewhere in the new 4 locations. They dont have to drop in every location, but with 4 new high level locations we should have iron ore, thread, coal, charcoal, AS, AB, suede, etc. if not compounded materials to make base material volume lower (eg. metallic thread = 10 thread). This keeps the world expansive while also allowing crafting to thrive.
