Ideas that can help bring even more people to this project

Hello everyone.

I recently started on L2 classic.club and I have truly enjoyed my first few days on the server. Thus, I thought I should spend some time to share with everyone some ideas regarding the server.

Given the recent failure of official classic servers and some other projects (I'm sure you are aware of that), Classic players are looking for the project that will be worth their time and money. Thus, a 4-year stable project sounds like an interesting prospect, with its own flaws.

However, the existing population of the server has had a long time to reach max level and top gear on all their characters. This is all good, since the time they have spent on the server is rewarded in a sense. Nevertheless, since this version of the game is so rewarding when it comes to farming raid bosses, it can be a bit hard for new sides to join the server in order to compete with the top sides (especially due to the level of their support character like sws and prophet). So, I have listed below some ideas that could serve as a starting point for you that could help new sides in the server and serve as a promotion for the community to see how awesome this server truly is.

My idea consists of the following points:

  • Set up a nice starter pack that people can purchase along with their premium accounts (obtainable with CoL preferably). This starter pack can include runes for different levels like previously done for 25-35 and 35-45 but for higher levels too. This can help the server as people will buy CoL and will allow new sides to quickly gain some ground.
  • Set up an Event that will run throughout 3 weeks to 1 month with increased exp and drops/spoil from hunting (for levels below 76).
  • Create some custom buff scrolls with 3rd class buffs (besides the ones already there - something like the stews) that can be sold in the market and could be obtainable through some kind of event similar to the teleportation scrolls and nun rings now. 
  • Allow for class changes across all classes on newly created accounts for some time. I know there is a lot of discussion revolving the class change reform. I am not suggesting an overhaul of this system but rather a limited and targeted time window where newly created accounts can reroll to any other class, thus eliminating the struggle for new players that want to play support and cannot level at all in the early game. I don't know how easy this is to implement but I find this to be a very healthy idea that could benefit the community.

These are just a few ideas. I would like to hear your opinion on the points listed above as well as any other ideas you might have.

In my opinion one good idea from this we i think can already afford to make buff like prophercies, CoV to be as buff scroll/strew buyable for CoL's.

Also there is 1 sucky thing in Classic compared to old L2 what should be reworked to its roots..... 1st hit CC take drop its imo stupid, it should be like always in L2, biggest DP's CC pick drop.

People who browse the forums know that I've always been one of the most vocal supporters of making the game easier for newbies, but with the new patch with all its official and custom tweaks, there's a a certain point where we need to ask ourselves where's the breaking point between helping newbies and killing the classic vibe by making the game too easy - and right now, I think, we're in sorta sweet spot and I honestly can't say there's a major need for any radical improvement.

But to clarify, I don't have a major problem with any of your proposals, I just think they'll only be needed in the future when the number of newbies eventually drop and people will start having problems forming RB parties on early levels.

Totally agree with sentence.
If we need to compare from 1.5-2.0-2.5 Hit 76 is to damn easy nowdays.

  • Specially with Zaken patch. Tons of new raid + Death Knight for every kind of level that gives a boom of exp.
  • New Spot/Zone. Back in 2.0 we were all grinding hard on SV / TOI now u can pretty choose from 70+ to go where u prefer/where ur setup can.
  • Newmbie starter pack has been already improved with nice contents.


    I can only agree with (No Limits) Reroll for let's say <45-50 LVL.
    But really who will spend 20eur for 1-2 (MAX) week of farm?
