@deviator. As BrainDamage said.. its not a  c1 client. Its a modified version of c1-c2 with goddess UI , changes on some skills/bugs.And it will be a CLASSIC experience,as NCsoft has named this client Classic .

One aspect that defines a good MMORPG is PvP. Even for people who don't like PvP they can't hide from it. Having Combat Points allows you to last longer in a fight. It's purely for the thrill of the moment.

For those who like PvE there was a challenge added in the form of Raid Bosses where you had to come up with tactics to defeat your foe and for every Raid Boss you had to come up with different strategy.

To make the game even more interesting and realistic you have fighter mobs, mage, ranged..all kinds. Every mob thus is unique and presents a special ability to challenge the player. For example a fighter mob might have high m. def. or high evasion to avoid being killed by mages and archers before it faced the player.

I don't see why all that don't belong in Classic or didn't belong during the earlier chronicles.

​May not be what you remember from prelude, but:

Even with CP's, PvP is retardedly short in most cases, simply because Lineage is a game that favors offense in both PvP and PvE.

Nothing worng with raid bosses. Having C1-style bosses would be sunjectively nice, but probably more trouble than it's worth.

Afaik monsters had those exact same passives ever since prelude, they just weren't shown in the client until Interlude. If nothing else, it adds some variety to the otherwise super-monotonous PvE aspect of the game

Yeah when I fist time tried classic it was like : "WTF? why theres a CP bar? " but classic is classic  completely another story of l2 story line

The only let down i felt was when i was hungry and watched a Mc Donalds ad and i rushed to get a Big Mac and the only big was the name.

Well @NicolaasNL . Big was the disappointment when you saw the burger too,wasn't it? . Anyway nicolaas is right.there is no really letdown on this. L2classic is going to be the way l2classic ncsoft thought of. Not the way that u thought it would be :p

​Well, if you really want old Lineage, there are plenty of other server, but honestly aside from few details breaking the immersion, it provides "classic" enough experience for most people.

Alright, let's open it up a little bit

Word classic definition "a work of art of recognized and established value." Another one is "judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind." so i guess we can agree that a word classic is miss used.

Then let's talk about experience. I think we can agree that the only experience that lineage2 provides is PVP and PVE and it will be different.

Just go find a vanilla C1 or C2 server and play.. i saw some, but they're unpopulated and with bad support..

Well, it is and it is not.

For most people it is classic enough. However this is "Classic", not "a classic". A distinct game version produced by NCsoft (except the translation, rates and some minor adjustments). So this server will be that Classic and there is very little point in arguing about it.

What Sett said above. It is Classic in it's own way not a classic chronicle 1 and the game has some unique features like on official.
