It does not attack Pilgrim like in many other cases (similar quests parts) but u can kill Crimson Werewolf and talk to Kakan to get quest item w.o problems. I did this step quest 2 days ago.

i had dc on loading to game on my very weak pc. It was taking 2 mins to load after enter on pin and i appeared in game with dc window ;p
