A-grade weapon crafting makes no sense in the current Classic setup
deathangel replied to deathangel's topic in Suggestions
There are only around 50-100 active players on the server - no one is really farming Dinos anymore. Many players already stopped farming Ptero Talons, even though they’re worth around 30kk. If the price drops further, no one will farm them at all. The reason the Primeval Talisman costs around 20kkk isn’t because Ptero Talons are overpriced - it’s because you only get 0–2 Talons per hour. It just doesn’t make sense to invest that much time for such poor returns. And remember, the people who actually farm Dinos aren’t beginners - they’re well-equipped players who already have better ways to make money. Meanwhile, poorer or lower-level players simply can’t farm Dinos effectively because of the strong enemies and competition. You need good gear, strong buffs, and proper support to survive there. It’s not like a solo low-geared player can just go there and start farming Talons freely, especially with such a small player base. -
A-grade weapon crafting makes no sense in the current Classic setup

If Sailren is turned off, then Ptero Talons and Tyranno Fangs also become useless, which would only remove more content from Dino Island, since A gems don’t drop there at all. Those items currently have value only because of Sailren. Maybe a few players have tried crafting a Primeval Talisman Lv.4, but the final stage costs around 20kkk to make, so it’s not really a practical alternative. Even with Sailren removed, this still doesn’t address the main issue - mid A-grade gear remains completely unprofitable to craft. Spending 74 A gems with only a 60% success rate results in an average crafting cost of about 1kkk, while the market value for top mid-tier items like Dragon Grinder is only around 300–400kk. It simply makes no sense when the materials are worth far more than the final product. Do you really think Top A weapons should be worth significantly more than Epic? -
A-grade weapon crafting makes no sense in the current Classic setup

Of course, but that’s exactly the issue — why would anyone farm A gems if there are more profitable options elsewhere? That’s the core of the problem. To fix this, A gems shouldn’t be limited to such a narrow farming zone. Make them drop from a wider range of mobs, so farming A gems becomes part of regular gameplay instead of a unique, isolated activity. At the same time, you can keep the dedicated gem farm areas (like Varka/Ketra) profitable by increasing the spoil chance, so it still makes sense for players who specifically want to focus on gem farming as a source of income. This way, crafting and farming both stay relevant and balanced. -
A-grade weapon crafting makes no sense in the current Classic setup

Hello, It doesn’t really matter how many A gems drop per hour if their market price hasn’t gone down. The main problem is that crafting is still not profitable, no matter the current drop rate. The update has been live for several months already, and despite the gem drops, the price of A gems is still around 8kk - which shows that the system hasn’t balanced itself naturally through supply. To make crafting worthwhile, the drop rate should be high enough for the gem price to fall roughly four times, to around 2kk per gem. Only then would A-grade crafting start to make sense. And let’s say you keep the current drop rate - do you honestly think that in a year the gem price would drop enough for crafting to become profitable? It seems very unlikely under current conditions. -
I brought this topic before and it's been more than a year w/o significant changes. A gems prices are unreasonaly high and since then their price even increased. Right now, crafting A-grade weapons that require A-grade gems doesn’t make sense in the Classic version of the game. This makes most crafting materials - like recipes, pieces, and keys - basically useless. On high-rate servers like x1000, this might be reasonable, but on Classic it’s completely unbalanced. Most mob drops, such as A-grade recipes and parts, lose all their value because crafting isn’t worth doing. The only meaningful crafting that remains is for certain A-grade armors (like Majestic/Nightmare helmets or Dark Crystal/Tallum sets), since they only need B-grade gems. As it stands, the only realistic way to obtain top A weapons is by farming Sailren or Antharas, since crafting them is not practical. To craft one A-grade weapon, you need 100 A gems, each worth roughly 8kk, with only a 60% success chance. That means, on average, it costs around 1.5b in average - while most top A weapons cost 700kk to 1kkk on the market. So the question is: What’s the point of crafting in this version of the game? If increasing the drop rate of A-grade gems to make crafting worthwhile isn’t an option, then at least consider reducing the number of gems required for crafting.

Explain how. You farm in Varka with your friends and now you all have to log out just because you want to avoid it? If you switch the place that little trash will just follow you anywhere.
-
Another option is to remove drop on death, but it's a big shift in the game
-
There are a lot of people who lure mobs in Varka and drop them on you. It's either TH or some summoners. Summoners of level 40- are especially annoying, since they cast buff that people of high level can't PK them. So it's impossible to do anything with them at this point. As making trains is one aspect of the game, it's really annoying and unfair. I propose at least make this invincible to PK buff disappear on high level zones.

xD Maybe it's a start so it get fixed someday by GMs.

I don't think this atracts more people. I've chosen this server due to classic class change quests + absent npc buffers. I would rather improve end-game mechanics: Like craft of A gear (which is not possible due to high A Gem price and breaks spoil/crafting mechanism) Or opening catacombs/necropolises

Gemstones and Cloths in Dion are too expensive
deathangel replied to deathangel's topic in Suggestions
As I predicted due to slight increase of drop A gems didn't increase in price, which means crafting A gear still doesn't make much sense and spoiling 76+ is useless -
Ok I guess there's no way

I have 4k Monitor and chat occupies only 10% of the screen which is super inconvenient. Is it possible to increase its height? I remember on other l2 client I could just drag and pull on the separator line. Maybe there's option in the settings that says "chat height"

@Koll btw why spoil on Varka are that meaningless? E.g.: Varka's Elite Escort Coal: 1-7, OriOre: 1 - 21%, SOP : 1 - 21% Varka Silenos Scout Enria: 1- 1.7%, Iron Ore: 1-3 - 52% and etc Also a few mobs have Top A grade weapon Recipe which are useless due to Gemstone price and no one ever's gonna craft them. Is this intentional? As it's much more beneficial to spoil much lower level. As I've mentioned before my general concern is: Fortune Seeker and Maestro are most useless class endgame. Well maybe for Warsmith is for siege only.. -

I've been waiting for that patch in order to see if it changes anything. I would lean towards changes that decrease the cost of A gems at least to 1kk. I anticipate the price would drop maximum to 5kk during next 2 month or would stay the same. Which is a meaningless change towards proper craft/grade mechanics. @Koll Which price do you think would be the fair for A gems? -
Having A Gemstones that are worth 7kk each completely breaks the mechanics of the game. It's impossible to get A-grade gear, except for players who farm epic bosses. This leads to no difference between having levels 52 and 61, since it's much cheaper and better to buy +6 B sets. Of course, there are also +6 A sets, but only a few people have them. This issue cascades further. It completely breaks the crafting of A-grade gear. No one would spend 600kk on Gemstones to craft A-grade weapons with only a 60% success chance. The weapon itself costs less. Additionally, bounty hunters become completely useless at high levels since no one needs A-grade recipes, except maybe a few that require B-grade gems. This situation makes A-grade weapons mostly useless, as inserting a rune is never worth it. Even if you somehow craft the item or get it from a drop or a Raid Boss, you still have to obtain Cloths, which makes sets 20 times more expensive. This, in turn, leads to the strategy of enchanting sets to +6 and only then unpacking them. I would suggest the following changes: Increase the drop rate of Gemstones by at least 10 times and distribute them among more mobs. A-grade Gemstones shouldn't cost 1000 times more than B-grade. Add the ability to spoil them or obtain them from a quest. Reduce the number of Gemstones required to craft an item if the top options lead to imbalance. I completely understand that A-grade gear is top-tier and should be expensive, but not to the degree where it is worth as much as tier-1 epic gear.

Can't get past last Tablet for Saga Cardinal quest

I tried also in 4 hours, effect is the same -
2024-06-30_01-36-23.mkv I get to the last tablet paragraph 17 from here https://l2db.club/?show=quest_info&id=85 When I kill the Angel nothing happens and Winter Hunter Kadyth says "I've missed.... Beter luck next time". He disappears in ~5min and when I try again it's exactly the same. I've tried already 10+ times. IGN: LorenStrawberry Here's the video https://www.veed.io/view/dd31d391-76a6-4961-83ae-7be8575903a5?panel= I tried different things: - I checked that my inventory has space - I restarted the client - I've updated the client - I've launched the game on another PC - I did the same quest with a different char an hour ago and it worked. But not with this cardinal - No one in the party - I tried to last hit it with a melee attack - I tried to let the NPC last hit it, but it has too low damage for that Quote
