In general main difference between necro and the other mages is that necro has no burst but is much tankier due to transfer pain. On this patch currently 3rd class profs aren't available so the other mages have no access to burst spells on a lower cd ( vortex/nuke ) combo. With the new patch most of the strengths and weaknesses of those classes will shine much more. Anyway, pick whatever you feel like playing all classes can do well in the hands of a good player/party. Modoy is right about sps strength being nukes going through shields. They can clean tanks/bards much more effectively in mass pvp which is a huge plus.

I think there is enough people on this server that the heroes on classes that can farm oly will be decided mainly by who farms the most randoms. 20% skill 30% epics 20% luck 30% feed as per usual ~_~. Pistolas probably has double the chances that I do considering the ratio of high level DAs to Necros with epics. Also dont underestimate people like WynonaRider, he is a good player, has full epics and and plays a class that is not very popular and can win most classes very easily. Also the balance probably won't be the same as Gran Kain since this is a x3 rate server and people will have access to 3rd prof skills faster.

Well you dont know how many ppl playing necros will go sps/sors/sph next patch. Necro is strong on this patch, but on 2.0 othre mages will get much better burst that's not on a 5min CD like now so we should be seeing much more of them compared to necros.
