I, too, seem to have underestimated what Classic stands for
Sett replied to Sett's topic in General Discussion
Summoner actually, cant use SS but others dont have money for it either as you probably realized, I know, i just counted too much on dagger blows, but they are just as useless here, as anything else. OL seems to work, but i'm not sure he's quite my cup of tea... -
True. Anything that can be traded for adena will fuck up balance in the first place.
-
I think you guys hit the jackpot with the current configuration. There is nothing gamebreaking, and it is just the right price that still makes me think about buying stuff. Anything more would be a no-go.

/block only works for private messages But you probably won't miss much, if you turn off !shout and +chat in the general tab.

Well i didn't mean anyone particular, it's just that there are like ten pointless threads on this pointless topic. Like i said (in several of them): Unless the staff decides they don't want certain people here at all, there is very little anyone can do, but respect each other.

do you understand what you are talking about? where is the profit for Russians, if they will trade only for ru comm? THIS IS BAD FOR BUSINESS You keep assuming they will prefer profit over .... let's call it nationality barrier. In my experience it is not always so. If a large enough Russian comunity develops, their economy will become self sufficient and while international trade will still be more profitable, it might not be enough for many of them to bother. This will however happen regardless of any artificial restriction, if their community is large enough. I agree it might end up with an international minority on otherwise russian server. But if it does come to that, there is very little anyone can do, unless the administration decides they don't care about large portion of the community - and even larget portion of PA's. So, yes. there are different people out there. Deal with it, and stop crying on the forum.

So, i did some ad-hoc testing yesterday, with some attention worthy results.. The good news first: (correct) DEX does not affect speed. .... at least on in the stats screen. (correct) level component of debuf land chance seems to work allright (<5% land on char 20 levels higher, >90% on equal level. Tested with bleed (phusical). (correct) test of saggitarius fixed And then the bad: debuff tested: Entangle clvl 60 Attacker: lvl 60 Silver Ranger, with bare hands, 9 (nine) m.atk. Target: lvl 60 Phantom Ranger, 435 m. def., 26MEN Result: 20 of 23 attempts landed. Summary: with (sqrt) m.atk = 3, therefore a whopping 0.007 (sqrt)m.atk-to-m.def. ratio, I got a 87% land rate on a target of equal level. I'm rather positive this in not the intended behaviour. It also landed no problem while target was still afected by previous cast and the duration refreshed, which I believe should not be possible as well. Will try to test this with root/sleep. and another: Target: MDT arena manager, facing back Attacker: lvl 60 Silver Ranger using Mortal blow (clvl35) With 18STR and 143 p.atk (dark screamer, +4 i think) damage ranged between 135 and 148 With 52STR and 142 p.atk. (some low d grade dagger) damage ranged between 105 and 110 For reference: with 52STR and 426 p.atk (ds+4) damage ranger between 142 and 155. While the source of the drop in damage can be attributed only to lower p.atk of the dagger used, the third test clearly shows STR has no noticable effect on skill critical damage. Will try to test regular critical hit damage. Unverified observations to be tested: - During Entangle testing the refreshed duration seemed to vary between 50-60 seconds. - Random pvp has shown that you cannot receive multiple DoTs at the same time (as per GoD mechanics) - lightning strike randomly paralyzes or only slows the target, duration seem to vary as well

Yes. It will be restricted by HWID and probably banned if circumvented.
-
Good luck farming that on Bloody queens (lvl 60 monster = highest). There probably will be olympiad in some later updates, but not even KR has that yet.

Guys, you are ridiculous. The use of various languages is not restricted anywhere in the civilized world. Let's keep it that way, ok? That being said, there definitely should be a rule prohibiting excessive/unnecessary general/shout macro spam, in any language.

No one is going to pay for hats, get over it. A community of barely 2k people came up with 6k EUR with nothing but hats as a compensation when it was needed. Many people did pay for hats, get over it. Yeah, remember there is an oficial classic coming in a few months whereas that community probably didnt have an official competitor where they had to pay. Paying for an official server is way more sensible than paying for a private one (when talking about the same chronicle, bug free vs bugged server). Well, that depends on how much of course. Coming up with 10EUR once is not the same as paying the same every month for every account. or just for dual.

While Shillien Debuffer is actually decent anti-archer PvP build (with -INT +WIT actually) when properly equiped, it is just retarded for PvE. By the time you squeeze out the drain, you could've done twice that damage just by hitting for zero mana, with possible activation of cubics, cursed maingauche etc. You will have nowhere near the equip needed for nuking like that, nor bssc lying around. It might work on higher rates, but not here, sorry

Could someone please verify, that debuffs should be allowed (or not) to land consecutively and repeatedly in Classic? (that is: regardless of previous successful landings, unlike in GoD+).
-
About that: It might be a good idea to leave it global until majority of [new] people move out of the starting villages.

Guys, replacing Cyrillic with latin would do no good, nor would banning them, nor any other obstruction. They will only adapt if it benefits them in the long run. The only thing you can really do is support what you consider good behaviour with your own actions. Treat them politely if they at least try to communicate, ignore them if they flame or spam nonsense, pwn them if they act like dicks. They'll either learn that it benefits them to try, or they'll eventually quit. They'll adapt or they'll perish.* But by acting the same, being the same dicks that theysometimes are, will only reassure them it's not worth the effort. Give them a chance, and only crush them into dirt when they personally give you a reason to. That's my plan anyways *or, of course, they will overrun the server, but it's hard to compete with that

I don't think any of those are quite gamebreaking to the point where they would prevent launch - as long as they are fixed in timely manner. Geodata in Cruma will have zero impact until majority of the server becomes capable of farming there (~30). Debuff land rate will not have significant impact until serious pvp for farm spots occur - in Cruma most likely. Dagger damage will make difference when people switch to karmians (until then you just two shot anyone anyway). And the quests simply suck too hard to be bothered by . There are issues that clearly need some attention, but there are much, much vorse servers running and they are quite fine...
-
Seriously, this server is open to public since May, and every day people ask the same questions and get (more or less) the same answers: "We'll let you know when we decide." And no, your character will not be crippled, if you aren't able to dualbox from minute 1.
-
I mean alongside live of course. I seriously doubt a test server (aka bilionth high rate, high enchant pvp server) will constitute any singnificant hit to low rate Classic server population. Those are simply competely different groups of target players. Besides the test server does not necessarily have to be open to public 24/7.
-
Like the title says, it might be beneficial for both the players and the devs to keep the test server running when we go live. There still seem to be some issues that will be very hard to test/fix on live server only.
