Afaik this is ok. They way dagger skill work they get very little benefits from buffs (except death whisper and dance of fire, but neither passives nor VS), soulshots, or even equipment. That's why you can have Assassin running naked around Dion with nothing but a novice dagger and ww and still twoshot everyone. As for power of the skills, as a rule of thumb you should be able to oneshot green 1xHP mobs, but not white. What i tested few days ago with my SR (so effectively a lvl 35 scout): Getting maingauche over novice dagger gave me some 10% extra damage, VS gave another 10%. This seemed to be consistent with every other server i played on. As for archers, more often than not, monsters will use power shot instead of regular attack, which hurts.bad and is not always immediately apparent. Light armor provides only marginally better p.def., than robes, but provide decent tankiness through evasion ... which does nothing against skills. Ultimate evasion skill does work, however. Since archers don't receive the -crit dmg. bonus from heavy armor, there is little point to wearing it, not even much more p.def., with higher levels of light armor mastery. Additionally, 95% of archer will aim for PL armor set, and 95% of them will not be able to afford it for a very, VERY long time. And 60% of the server will be robes anyway. The real snag about daggers, however, is the fact, that they have no way of closing distances in C1.0, apart from juking behind a corner and hoping the enemy is retarded enough to follow you there. But again, 95% of them will. Yes, after ten years, people are that good at this game.
