Chinese have been fighting with wallets for as long as they've been here and nobody's really bothered by it. Sure, the money gets you further, but it doesn't make you untouchable like on G.o.D.+ official servers. On this chronicle/server money simply isn't enough to win the game. Even this SOES+18, as powerful as it is, will make virtually zero impact in mass pvp, especially since most people in the endgame have +10++ staffs already.

Different regions, different income, different mentality. Used to play this card browser card game before called 'tyrant unleashed' and there were people who were regularly spending hundreds of dollar every month on bunch of cards just so they could stay in top in the browser game that had virtually zero actual gameplay. It doesn't even have to be some kind of middle eastern oil tycoon (I mean there're people who literally wouldn't even bend their back if they saw 2k lying on the street), all it takes a random guy in a random western country with mid-to-high income without kids who spends a lot of time in this game - what's he supposed to spend money on? For example, in Germany the average monthly salary is around 4k euro a month. You pay for housing and some food and you still have well over 2k left on your hand. So why not spend it on something that will be absolutely the best gun you can possibly have for years to come on server that has been stably running for over 4 years (both 'official' servers are almost dead at this point btw) - even S grade guns from upcoming patches will be trash compared to this and I don't really see them coming anytime soon. SOES +18 will simply be a nuke for as long as you play. I'm not surprised at all there're some people willing to spend this ammount of money for it.

Fuug I got 100 damage IRL just by seeing this... Kinda curious if it was a lucky IEWB on +15 (quite understandable decision) or someone balled big time on +16/17. Or just admins need a new TV for Euro 2020 Kappa PLS NO BANNEDKI :c

You mean you're new to Classic or Lineage generally? If you're new to the whole game then I'd strongly suggest you to at least start playing it with one of your friends, this game isn't exactly newbie-friendly. If you're new to classic, well - summoners have always been the to-go solo chars. Easiest summoners to play are ES or WK because not only they can decently exp solo without any box, they're extremelly demanded in raid parties as well, because they function as healers as well (after 2nd transfer you can instantly re-summon your recharging pony/cat with full mana... Go figure)... But even if summoners are not you kind of thing, you can level up with virtually anything since latest patch with all the RB parties going on.

Yeah but the event at its current state is failing to do that either... To do at least this, the drop rate should be increased 10x and the good rewards decreased 10 times, right now it's exactly as Drawler was saying, there's no point in opening the boxes unless you're going in big (which players outside of the endgame zone are absolutely not, especially since there isn't really anything too 'exciting' to try their luck on).

I said it before and I say it again - no extreme is good. Official events managed to get people excited, but the rewards they were handing out were way too powerful. Here we have the other extreme - the rewards don't imbalance the game in any way, but most people simply don't give a flying f*ck about the event in a first place. I understand that admins don't want to imbalance the game, but the harsh truth is that the recent event system, for absolute majority of people, is just getting some extra adena during farm. Combination of the Santa co-op and absolutely zero possible exciting rewards means that >90% of people will just drop the items to GH and move on while the remaining minority will try their luck for some cloth piece or smth. Such excitement, much wow. The whole thing could be solved by including some exciting rewards like RB jwls or something with 0,00nothing chance, some people will be excited to try their luck at least.

The problem is that on a 4 year old server there're a lot of people with the +10++ guns and the LS are extremelly cheap as well, so you can't really escape seeing those. But anyway as I said to me it's something that I can deal with, but it's not a good 'first impression' to newbies - all these grandiloquent glows were always a domain of questionable interlude java servers, not the 'classic' ones per se.

Just a thought, but to me it's kinda killing the first sight 'classic' vibe, and while for old players it might be just a bother, I feel like newbies could even get discouraged by seeing all these 'java' glows... So I'm curious what others think of it - the outer armor glow you get on +6/+8/+10 armor sets and specifically the purple weapon glow that you get when augmenting a +10++ weapon.

You're damn right I'd grab it in a moment, it's a pretty sweet deal.

btw. big shoutout to admins for limiting the ammount of fixed event collectibles to only 2 (item and box; torch boxes and torches are time-limited and thus un-collectable) - not only it's much more pleasant to deal with generally, it doesn't put such burden on us collectors. We still need them warehouse slots though.

And how are the item drop chance / box opening chances compared to last event pls?

How's the event item drop chance compared to last event? Also, has the reward drop rates been altered in any way? (e.g. increased chances for Fresh Beer and reduced chances for Firecrackers, or something like that) btw. makes this the last event with firecrackers and QHP pliz, just replace those with threads or something. Or just make the box explode instead and give you 1 damage for lulz.

I'd say fair, last year they also announced the event the day it was started so the chance is still there ?

I actually do like this idea, but maybe limit the selection of summons to the old Strider/Red Star Strider and Fenrir/White Fenrir, if it's not too difficult to code them as mount-only... Could bring some extra cash for the server from newbies who want a summon and people who want something oldschool...
