Well, you weren't, untill you wrote this... And I mean no ofense, but 3x Classic means the most hardcore farmers will get 2nd CC in about a MONTH from launch. Do you honestly believe people who complain about rollback are ready for that?
-
I just created a another char, and i'm 100% sure we have same rate as before x50 XP x100 ADENA x25 DROP, that why Cassiopeia is right when he said that. You get 200 adena per Keltir and you think we have x3 rate, then you gonna cry when real Classic will come. And about Rollback, with these rate, it's too easy to get back everything you lose. If Leto Lizardman Overlord has Adena (726-1449) on the 1x dropspoil database, and I get 3000-5000 adena on this server, that is not 25x ! This is old database... Classic has completely different drops (~50% changed), and way less adena.

I am flattered, but I actually play SimCity right now, and I expect things to stay that way untill live (unless some testing is needed). First: I wouldn't call those people less inteligent. Less experienced, less mature, or just less serious about Classic, but inteligence is a different thing. Second: Honestly, I don't care if people leave because of rollback on beta, because those people would leave anyway, sooner or later. Classic requires a certain mindset, that many players lack, and it's certainly not for everybody. Of course bigger comuninty will atract more people and more people will stay and enjoy, but doing crazy sh*t like that would drive away more people, than attract. Plus it would drive away those "reliable" people too, en masse. Point being, if you want more people here, make sure they know what they are getting into, that one day rollback will be the least of their worries when they spend a month's worth of farm on teleports doing 2nd class change quest. And just to avoid any confusion, Classic base adena rate is about 1/6 of what old chronicles used to be, so 3x Classic is actually half adena compared to "back then". That actually means even slower grind than that, because shots.

I don't really see, what this arguement is about. The mods have been polite, they explained what happened and why - despite the fact that people should already know, because it was announced all over the forum and (allegedly) ingame as well. They didn't actually say it, but I will. GET OVER IT. Demanding, or even suggesting, that you should receive some kind of compensation for a rollback, that has been announced days in advance, on a beta server that will be wiped in few days, is just ridiculous. Moreover, even if the server was live, I have never heard of this kind of demand being fulfilled on any serous server. a) It would give you an unfair advantage over players that do not get their stuff back. b) There is no way to tell if you did really play at that time and gained anything, aside from your good word. I might as well claim that I farmed $1000 worth of equip that I had a buyer for and demand that this loss of profit be compensated to me... Who's to tell i'm lying and you are not? Just nonsense... I mean no offense, but if you guys play Lineage as long as you claim, then you should be old enough to understand the entire server doesn't revolve around you, you should know, that it's just a game, and you should know to do your homework and read the official information, before you start making demands...

Pros? You are sure to be the best SK on the server... Don't get me wrong, I love SK and the whole koncept of "I'll nuke you down, while snacking the arrows you shot at me", but they were pain in the ass to level even in much easier times, and the usefulnes of actual full-fledged tanks in Classic is limited, to say the least. Basically reduced to faster train pulling due to AoE agro. And that gets old fast as well. As for tyrants, I don't see why the lack of SA's would weaken them more than any other class. You'll rely mostly on skills, and PvP-wise, the best SA for pretty much any melee class is health anyway.
-
Tyrant might work. Daggers are fine, but need either someone to take agro (not realy tank, just make the moster show it's back for a second), or a lot of downtime. DA can farm with panther as a last resort. That being said... DO NOT, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TRY TO SOLO CLASSIC WITH A CHAR THAT RELIES ON MELEE AUTOATTACK. JUST....DON'T. You can solo SK easily with fenrir. You can solo him somewhat well with top equipment and soulshots and spiritshots. You will have none of that in Classic.

IMHO: reduce penalty, but in pvp only. Sin eaters were good for many other reasons besides reasonably difficult way to remove PKs. However, they would need pet managers to be introduced as well, and it's probably not worth the trouble.

It's beta. It will be completely deleted in two weeks, then again the next week before going live. The rollback - while easily avoidable - is completely nonconsequential. If the OP had enough time to complain about sh*t, he could've taken the ten seconds to stumble over one of the ~40 threads asking WHEN ARE WE GOING LIVE. This server has a history of not being the real deal, yet. Might have given him a clue. Also he's experienced enough, if he knows what rollback is.

It has been asked and replied, but I'm still not quite sure I get it. RUoff Classic started with about 1/6 adena rate, but has recently trippled it to 1/2. We are meant to have 3x RUoff Classic rates. Does that mean we will actually get nine times the original 1/6 adena rate (a total of 1,5x)? Or 3x the original 1/6 (=1/2), and thus the same as RUoff has now?
-
I know they will. There are always people like that. But I don't think those poeple will stay very long, because it doesn't (shouldn't) work on Classic. Because the grind is long, and it is meant to be, exactly for the reason of discouraging this rush to endgame
-
Here's the thing: I still have some very strong opinions about the posted rules, and at times I get this urge to vent them in written form. But I don't want to be an ass about it. because hopefully the staff knows what they are doing. They certainly cannot have less experience with running a server, than I have... So here is my promise: I WILL NOT VOICE MY OPINION ON RULES, IN PUBLIC. But If I do mention the rules, including thing like "I told you so"... please tell me I'm being a dick about it, in big flashy letters, will you?

I think in the beginning all we will see will be shots. People wanna level up faster for brag reasons or to experience end game and spend many adena for that reason alone. Yes, that is exactly why shot will be very scarce. There is no endgame in Classic, at least not in C1.0. You finish second class transfer, you move to Dragon Valley, you get C grade, and ... that's it. Some people will realise it is ineffective to spend mid C weapon's worth of adena on D grade shots every ~60 hours, some will quit when they cannot afford shots anyways, some will quit when they realise even with shots they are still in D grade after two months of playing. There will be some demand, of course. Organised AoE parties, PvP, emergency DPS, even regular grind on 50ish levels (still organised tho)... But don't expect to make a fortune with a afk dualbox that you invested less than 24 hours into. People won't be able to grind with shots consistently, unless they have other significant sources of income, like other high level char, or extremely lucky drops. Not until Dragon Valley anyway. IMHO.

Well, you obviously haven't seen me play my suicidal carpet bomber mage ^^

What about Spoiler/Crafters? I think there will be too many spoilers with PP or SE boxed. I doubt anyone would base their career decision on how many dwarves there are. As far as I am concerned there cannot be too much BHs. BHs can make some cash (and there will be many of them, as alts). WSs will be decent too but only on higher levels, where they can craft thing like PL or B grade. I doubt anyone will make a fortune crafting shots.

Actually stunning a mage when he agroes an archer or a caster is one of the easiest methods...
-
Mages, because people will neglect jewelry. Archers, because other people will play mages. Warlords, because they are the only way to farm somewhat faster. Duals are obvious.
-
None. No character is good at solo, not in Classic. But if you absolutely have to, try summoner or archer
-
Mages, archers. warlords. SEs and PPs on dualbox.

The difference in speed is propabably not enough to make any difference if you are within 900 range, you won't run fast ebough to exceed maximum casting distance. In anything other than 1v1 it will depend on the slowest party member, which is unlikely to be the archer. And any archer will outrun any mage/tank/support. Base speed In exact numbers: Elf fighter - 143 (Kamael fighter - 140) Dark Elf fighter - 139 Human fighter - 132 Dwarf fighter - 131 Orc fighter - 130 Elf mystic - 129 Dark Elf / Orc mystic - 128 Human mystic - 124 Passives are the same for all archers, as are the buffs. Stun resistance: this issue was never tested properly, there are only scarce informations. It's very likely that it is linked to CON modifier, which is 1.12 for PR (no tattoos), 1.28 for SR and 1.58 for HE. Again this is pre-GoD. Furthermore, chance to land a stun depends on level difference between attacker and the target. How much, is determinet by skill used, but as a rule of thumb, do not expect to land a stun on a target more that 3 levels above the level where you learned the skill. Because of the way critical damage works, the passives make very little difference except for dagger skills. Since GoD, however, STR affects critical damage multiplier (along with p.atk. itself), which in my experience has much higher impact. A 57(+16) STR PR does roughly double damage compared to 40 STR (+4) SR. Critical chance gives flat 5% buff to critrate, IIRC. Critical damage on the other hand is a flat (very low, affected by p.def.) bonus to critical damage.

Here is my two cents: A thousand time spoken lie still does not become a truth. HE isn't well rounded, PR isn't that fragile, nor that strong, SR isn't that fast. Let me see. HE has the best overall DPS, highest HP/CP. He's by far the most common, for a reason. He has snipe, which is awesome for party PvE Both elves have some tricks up their sleeves, that would be much more useful, if it wasn't easier to just stunshot everything. PR has about the same DPS as HE. He's naturally faster*, has freezing strike that can slow down target, which may help slower party members to catch up with the target.... but again, stunshot is better for that. PR has ONE** extra point of STR over HE and loses four** point of CON to SR. Strong and fragile my ass... PR also has Hex and Power Break, but it's "meh" on ranged high DPS char. SR has about 20% less DPS and about 3HP/lvl more than PR. He's the fastest*, which is arguably the most important ability in high end pvp. He has entangle than can slow flagged (purple) enemies (while PR's freezing strike works on white too). A special note on SR on Classic 1.0: Since buffs are severely limited, and SR has quite an arsenal of his own, he doesn't really need a party and can solo almost as effectively as with a party. This will, however, change, when more buffs are added in later updates. It also doesn't make SR the fastest solo farmer (slowest, actually), only a bit safer. *HE is rather slow for an archer, but he has Dash, which, when used on cooldown, makes him actually faster than both elves on average, but it cost some mana, nand is annoying as f*ck, when you need to run longer distances.. That being said, the differences are minor. All of them hit hard enought to two shot a robe, all of them have stunshot. They only need to use different tactics fighting other archers. HE has better "stand and deliver" (and take it), while elves need a little more tactical approach against tougher foes. As for DYEs, the effect of the same tattoo is (almost) exactly the same on all archers, and Lineage II is not a game of balancing stuff. On Archer you can go with various degrees of -CON, and get away with it. The biggest con of -CON is lower carry capacity (HE has highest CON and passive that doulbles his capacity), but you don't need to worry about that until lvl 50+, and even then only in well organised parties, where others can carry your soulshots around. PvE wise, on elves it is better to get at least one +DEX tattoo, instead of going full +STR. HE has that covered with Hawkeye self buff. You also may, or may not care to get +4WIT -5INT to cast buffs and slow faster. And just for aditional emphasis. A lvl 60 PR has 2521** HP, SR has 2668** HP (+5,8%), and HE has 2959** (+17,3%). **This is actually a pre-GOD mechanics calculation, but the differences are very similar in the new system. Differences in attack speed are negligible, with HE having a slight edge due to passives. Oh, and I really wouldn't worry too much about solo in Classic... The best class for you to play is the one you enjoy the most. Enjoyment is why you play the game in the first place, after all

If you ever use keyboard to move around, try moving with arrows some more with mouse clicks inbetween. Sometimes you might get disconnected without notice. Just relog. I heard somewhere the server is hosted in France.

Hello guys and girls, you are very much welcome!

I would propose, that we reconsider some of the rules before launch. To put it bluntly, some of them are simply unnecessary, while some will cause more damage than good. Wall of text incoming, please read the bottom line at the very least. Ingame all chat: 4. Offensive statements about other users, all kinds of provocation. A flame. Unless someone is repeatedly, intentionally, excessively vulgar I suggest we leave it to players. We are 99.5% adults, we can take it. 6. Discussion of "bugs", "bots", including situations bearing the same meaning. Except for guides on exploiting serious bugs and bypassing bot protection I don't really see how discussing them can be harmful. On the contrary... 7. Calls to leave the server or messages, infroming other people of you leaving the server. While undestandable, this one will be hard to effectively punish... Forum: Create topics: All of them, really. While I understand the impulse (s, massive 's') that made you put those rules in.... Are you nuts? Seriously. Half of the forum users join in only to solve ingame problem. They create a "Help!" (2.4) topic (85th one concerning the same problem-2.1) in the first section that appears remotely related (2.2). If noone answers in five minutes, they create another (2.1, 2.3), then start insulting the staff (2.5). There you have it, all five rules broken in the first ten minutes (not that they would bother reading the rules). But still, even this kind of people we should give a chance, and help them, not bully them about rules (which WILL happen if those rules stay). Posting messages: 3.4 False information. Only if you can prove intention - good luck with that. Everybody is wrong sometimes, it's not a crime, nor should it be punished. 3.6 Offensive statements about other users, all kinds of provocation. A flame, same as ingame, with the possible exception of trolling new players being punishable. 3.8, 3.10, 3.11 (where is 3.9?) are smart actually. But still problematic. I'll get to "why" shortly. Other: 4. Discussion in any way: 4.1 Actions of the forum administration/moderators. Use private messages to contact the administration. Again understandable, again problematic. 5. Posting in any language except English in "English-speaking Community Forums". Posting in other languages is allowed in special sections of "Other Languages Communities Forums". If you want to create your language community, contact the forums administration. And again. I'd actually keep this one, but change it to require english translation, but not ban original text. That way we can keep the "main" forum understandable for everyone while still helpful to minorities. It is often better to do your own Google tranlate, than to try and decypher that Urdu guy's translation... THE BOTTOM LINE: The reason why I suggest we reconsider these, is because they will be hard to maintain, by players and by the staff alike. Some of those seem very natural to do unintentionally. E.g. someone ask about a problem in shout that is related to some bug. Many people would be compeled to help him and answer (probably in shout again). but now it may be punishable. Obviously, these rules cannot be followed to the letter. But once you set a precedent of letting minor infractions pass, the salami tactics will set in, and with a lot of grief on top ("He gets away with it and I dont? You @$$4013$!"). And it will be next to impossible to draw the line, even for very mature and experienced moderators. Seriously, this is king Salomon's job... On the other hand, in case you do intend to keep them, to the letter, these tules will be outright impossible to maintain, You'd need his own moderator for each player online.... Such is my opinion. /Discuss
