  • In this topic you can find the main changes about to come in the next update. Once again we will not give specific dates of when update will come and info on this post is still open for discussion, and some things might change, be added or removed.

    This is not the final patch notes, is just a list of what most likely will be changed so players can have some idea.

  •          1) Olympiad System
  • The Olympiads will happen every Friday and Saturday from xx:xx to xx:xx. (4 hour period still to be decided)
  • To take part in the Olympics, you can use the Olympiad Manager in every city.
  • To participate in the Olympiads the prerequisites are level 61+ and at least second profession.
  • Every char of every class matching the prerequisites can participate.
  • Every char is allowed to make 30 matches per week.
  • Chars receive 10 points each week.
  • You can not participate in the Olympiads if your points are 0.
  •  
  • At the entrance to the Olympic Stadium abilities with cooldown less then 15 sec
  • onds will be refreshed.
  • While on the Olympic Stadium you cannot use any chat.
  •  

Winning and Loosing on Olympiad Matches.

  • The Character who kills the opponent during the Olympiad Match time wins.
  • When the outcome of the match is not specified, the winner is the character who has inflicted more damage.
  • The winner of the match will take over 1/5 of the looser's points, capped on max 10 points
  • If both characters have not caused damage to each other during the combat, its considered a draw, and both players lose 1/5 of the points, capped on max 10 points.

 

Choosing a Hero of the Great Olympiads

  • The choice of the Hero on each class will happen among all the players of that class who made at least 10 matches. The Character of each class with higher points its considered the Hero of that class. 
  • One hero is appointed for the same profession independent of being 2nd or third class. If a Treasure Hunter has 20 points and a Adventurer has 18 the hero of the Adventurer class will be the Treasure Hunter with 20 points. There will be a max 31 heroes making it 1 for each profession (independent of it being 2nd or 3rd class).
  • Hero selection will happen on the 1st day of the next month from 00.00 till 12.00. After this calculation period, the ones with the higher amount of points on their profession can receive from the Olympiad Manager a Hero Certificate.
  • By becoming a Hero, you can get as a reward item "Cloak of the Hero." (still not sure if the cloaks will be implemented, depends on the discussion about the other cloaks)

 

Olympiad Rewards.

  • As a result of participation in Olympiad games, each participant has a certain amount of Olympic Points. They are the criteria for the choice of the Hero class at the end of the Great Cycle of the Olympiads.
  • If a character had more than 10 Olympic Matches, it will be in the final ranking of the Great Cycle of the Olympiads.
  • After their points are calculated , depending on how good they did during the Olympiad Period they will be awarded with extra points that can later be traded for Battle Marks on the rate of 1 to 20 ( 1 point for 20 Battle Marks)

         2) New Clan Skills

 

There will be 12 new clan skills coming in the next update. This new clan skills will require only the right clan level and Clan Reputation Points to be learned.

            3) Mark and assist icons.

New icons will show on your actions window. There will be 4 icons to mark a target with and 4 icons to assist on that symbol so you can get the target of the person who was marked before by some of your party members, just by clicking on the respective assist token button.

 

 

            4) Level cap removed.

In this next update level clap will be removed, players will be able to level up till the point the game allows him to go.

 

 

           5) Changes on DEX/WIT

Basically... DEX will become a bit stronger then it is and WIT will become a bit weaker then it is. 

 

 

 

          6) New Second class skills

Due to the increase in levels, some old skills will have their levels raised (will be possible to learn more levels of this skill) so they can still be effective on higher levels.

 

 

               8) 3rd classes mounts

After completing the 3rd class quest Characters will receive as a reward a mount. NCSoft locked the mounts by race so that every race would have a specific mount tho we decided not to make it race locked, so at the end of third class quest you will be able to pick which one of the mounts u like more.

All the mounts are exactly the same, only looks are different, this are non combat mounts what mean u cannot use skills or attack while using it.

  • Sabertooth Cougar

  • Black Bear

  • Kukura

 

             9) Augmentation System

No news here. its exactly the same system it was on earlier chronicles when it showed up. This will apply for Weapons ONLY!

 

             10) Special Ability.

 

Special abilities will show up in a different way. 

NCsoft wanted you to get Runes only from Olympiad and only Level 1 rune. But we thought it will be boring to just collect points and buy them. We want you to have fun and fight for bosses with higher rune levels, check them each 10 minutes just to get this rune like you checking epic bosses.

Following this way of thinking we decided to make our own system.

- Raid bosses will be dropping runes from level 1 to level 6 (this levels might change in case we need to balance it more)

- Level of runes dropping will be based on boss level:

  • LVL 1 - bosses 20 to 30
  • LVL 2 - bosses 30 to 40
  • LVL 3 - bosses 40 to 50
  • LVL 4 - bosses 50 to 60
  • LVL 5 - bosses 60 to 70
  • LVL 6 - bosses 70+

- Bosses can drop more then 1 rune.

- You can use 2 runes to try to combine them into a higher level Rune but depending of the level of the lower level rune chances are lower to succeed. As in you have in one side 2 runes level 3 and on other a rune lvl 3 and a rune level 2. the chance of the 2 runes level 3 become a level 4 is higher then the chance of the rune lvl 3 and rune lvl 2 to become rune lvl 4.

- Rune you will get if succeed will be one level higher then the higher rune u combined.

- If you fail to combine the runes into a higher level rune, the lower level rune will be lost.

- Different levels and types of rune will give different stats when applied to a weapon. EX; a rune level 5 will give lets say 5 % casting speed while a rune level 3 will give only 3 % casting speed.

- To use the runes you just Click on it and select the weapon you want to use + the bonus u want to get from it.

- The Enhancement process will consume the rune and some amount of Gemstones based on the grade of the weapon you are using.

- This system is still up to some changes in the future, but you can get from here an idea of how it will be working.

 

           

                  11) Dyes capped on +5 same stat.

 

With the introduction of the Special Ability there was not much of a point on living the dyes as it is now, as so, the max stat will go back to +5 as it was on earlier chronicles.

 

                 12) Books for 3rd class skills and how to get them.

 

This books for the 3rd class skills will not be dropping from mobs, instead, monsters in Tower of Insolence will drop Magic Pieces, with certain amount of Magic Pieces + adena you can buy the books you need from a NPC in Aden and Giran.

There will also be a book box as a reward from olympiad that can be bought with Battle Marks + adena.

 

                13) Beast soulshot/spiritshot.

 

Yes its true and its finally happening, after 10 months of a long and loyal wait by our summoners, we are bringing in the so long waited beast soulshots.

They will be for sale in giran grocery and summoners will also be able to summon them with a new skill.

 

               14) New action /previoustarget.

 

Players will now be able to go back to the target they had before it switched by using the action /previoustarget.

 

              15) "Mini" epic bosses.

 

The most loyal guards of the Epic bosses came on their defense. 4 new bosses will show up stronger then the common boss and with a special particularity: Having the chance of dropping the jewel of the Epic boss they swore to protect. This very special raid monsters will be nearby the location of their bosses and they will be level 75.

This bosses will also have the particularity of being one of the few ways to achieve A grade Equipment besides Baium himself and the usual crafting.

 

              16) SP buff Scrolls on Clan Halls and Castles.

We know that most of people don't get enough SP and it's kinda problem for players. NCsoft added only 2 Scrolls Low level and Middle level in Clan Halls 10 per hour. We added also High in Castles and we don't want you to just use it to get SP, it will give you % bonuses when you kill mobs.

Clan Halls and Castles will be now selling SP Buff Scrolls.

There will be 3 types, Low grade - 2 % Bonus, Mid grade - 4 % Bonus, and High Grade 6 % Bonus.

Low and Mid grades will be sold in CH (3 Low and 2 Mid per hour)

High grade will be sold in casltes (2 per hour)

 

             17) A grade Equipment.

 

NCSoft made A grade available in a way we found it very weird and confusing through a serie of missions in dungeons and quests and special farm zones in Tower of insolence with Full drops only from Baium. We were not very pleased with this change and as so we are not going to follow them in here. A grade full items will be dropped from Baium and the 4 new Guardian Mini Epic Bosses, but we want to keep crafters and spoilers relevant to the game, so A grade equipment parts and Recipes will still be dropping/spoiling from monsters in game more precisely in the monsters of Tower of Insolence.

The A grade equipment list will contain all A grade sets (majestic, DC, NM and tallum), + pre Interlude A grade weapons (weapons as themis thong, barakiel axe, naga storm etc will still not exist)

 

 

Later we will share a drop/spoil list about this parts and recipes.

 

           18) Baium and Tower of Insolence.

 

Tower of insolence will come into play in this next update as the new big hunting zone. NCSoft made a lot of weird shenanigans there which we wont be following. We will have the standard old school TOI with the good old school monsters with higher levels having drop/spoil for A grade gear parts and recipes.

And ofc if we open ToI we could not do it without pulling Baium into the fray. The Emperor Baium will also join us to bring to the players a new big challenge to fight for.

Baium quest will be the standard one as before.

 

           19) New Raid Bosses.

 

Some new raid bosses will show up for zone for levels 65+.

 

           20) New zones.

Besides Toi 4 new zones will be open for hunting in this next update.

  • Plains of Fury (not sure if correct name) 60 ~ 66
  • Plains of Glory 60 ~ 66
  • Forsaken Plains 67 ~ 72
  • Silent Valley 72 ~ 75

 

 

          21) New Quests.

Third class quests, Baium quest, Card game quest... all coming to you also on this update.

 

          22) 3rd class dyes.

Dye merchant in aden will be selling new dyes for 3rd class chars use only.

 

           23) Bracelets and Talismans.

Talismans and bracelets will be implemented. Not exactly the older talismans system with trading in castle for eupallets etc. This one is a more simpler one. A NPC will show up near luxury shop in Giran and she will be selling some talismans with limited time. And ofc to use a talisman you will need a bracelet. Players will be receiving a bracelet as a reward to join a clan but you can purchase better ones in game.

The list of Talismans will be added later cuz we still discussing about the ones we want to add since we don't want to add them all.

 

         24) Joining a clan reward.

 

When joining a clan players will receive a bracelet so new players can start using some cheaper talismans without having to use their pocket money on a bracelet.

 

         25) Academy System.

 

We think its more then time for academy to show up, we do not understand why ncsoft havent done it on classic yet, but we dont want to wait more.

Academy system will bring to us a lot of solutions for a lot of problems.

Clans will be able to have their lower ranks in the main clan without having to create multiple alt clans.

Lower level members will not have to be in empty boxes clans feeling alone and they will now have the chance to be in an active clan and chat with ppl, see the actions etc.

Clans will have access to some bonus CRPs and will be able to more precisely filter who they want to have in main clan or not cuz they can actually control those lower level players activity and actions.

New comers will be able to join an academy and found themselves in the possession of a clan buffer to make their life not so miserable when trying to reach the higher levels.

New comers can make friends easier without feeling like they are alone in the world while battling through those low levels.

Now the stuff open to discussion that we want to hear your opinion about and see the reactions to understand if we should add them or not.

 

1) Cloak of Light and Cloak of Darkness.

 

This was added for castle lords of giran and aden. We do not understand why only for this 2 castles and if we add them it will be for all castles.

Basiclly the clan who owns a castle can get this cloaks from castle to use them. Cloaks has some small stats (max cp/hp/mp. some defense stats and reflect dmg) but we are more worried about the visual part since it might look more "flashy" then what we like to see.

 

2) Daily reward system.

 

We were thinking about some kind of daily reward system when player every day when he logs (with 24h interval ofc) can claim some box containing some sort of consumables such as soulshots or even some special coins they can use later to buy some consumables or something around this. Nothing too big but a little something to keep ppl more interested on logging everyday. All these items would be not tradable ofc to avoid ppl logging over 9000 chars and get everything on main char.

 

3) Macro icon showing the skill icon instead.

NCSoft made some changes on macros icons and this one might be interesting or not depending on how ppl sees it. So basically the idea is when you have a macro lets say /useskillforce Tribunal, instead of it showing the normal macro icon, it will show the skill icon but still work as a macro. This will not work if theres many skills on the macro but if theres only 1 skill or few skills it should show the first skill on the macro. We think it might be a coolish feature, not sure if totally necessary and some ppl might prefer to thave their stuff hidden when making videos and such so lets us know what u think about.

 

4) PVP zone events.

So... NCSoft made in this update some kind of pvp zone events which are quite confusing and unappealing and happen on Tuesdays (oO).

It got us thinking. On something similar but with different dates and different ways to work.

What we have in mind would be something like on the weekend when theres no siege, a zone like TOI or LOA would become a PVP zone for couple of hours, and special monsters would spawn instead or a special boss with good drops so ppl would be able to finght for it like on siege, but instead of fighting for the castle they would be fighting to assure the boss/monsters control and later the boss/monsters loot.

 

5) CP Potions on grocery.

 

On offical CP Potions were added to grocery shop. We dont rly know what to do with it. Tho its a good idea to remove some money from game and it also opens possibility that everyone will have access to them, we are not sure if we want to add them or not.

Theres a couple of good points of having this:

  • Everyone would have access to them so pvps would prolly last a little longer.
  • They are heavy so no one would have big advantage out of this just by having lot of money cuz either way they wont be able to carry many of them in most of classes.
  • By natural stats fighter classes will be able to carry some more then mages giving then the chance to have some extra tankiness while getting in the fight.
  • It will help removing some adena from game.
  • etc...

 

So this are the 5 main points open for discussion. Please let us know what you think about them so we can know if to ignore them completely, use them, or just make poll about it. Feel free to comment about the rest of the update features also.

Olymp works different. not like this. same rune system. You can buy sealed rune in CH. ~80k adena

TOI with common mobs =\ RB with A grade =\ No quest for blood fabric to unseal A grade. =\

No clan bonus system for Login and killing mobs.

1. dont introduce cloaks imho, there is high wariety of look in L2. Everybody looking the same simple makes no sense.
2. dont add daily system reward, i login everyday since begining of the server, dont need to reward for this. In CP pots point u tell us to defraud adena - good thinking, im about it too. Witht his daily consumables it wont defraud adena. U introduced free zone with free tp, atm ppl almost not losing adena on tps when they can tp giran harbor - soe giran. Adena need to be spend somewhere - spend on consumables.
3. Macro is ok.
4. PvP zones wont fit on low community server. It will kill the pvp totally, u need to find enemies to kill them.
5. CP potions yes and not. Good CP. but there will occur shtload of programs for auto use CP potions, which makes no sense.
Or maybe we talk of this CP potions used once per 5-10min, these potions had abit more sense than spamable ones.


PLAYERS - remember, there is shtload of things made for Korean crap official that kills playability - dont kill it here.

This is really cool, I don't know what to say, but it sounds kinda cool

Back in the day I remember everybody using their CP potions nonstop, back in C4 If I remember correctly and nobody was complaining about this. I think it's a good money sink and well, like you said, everybody has access to it so I don't see a real problem here. Except that the first who runs out of CP pots would have a higher win rate

Not sure about the limit on Dyes to +5 - This seems a tad unfair to some classes like archers who use a lot of STR to keep up with mage damage. 

Not a big fan of PvP area with 'special mobs' It'll just mean top clans lock it down and hold it. There will already be competition for top ToI spots anyway.

CP pots.. Please don't add them. It'll mean whoever runs out of CP pots first loses.

1. i wouldnt introduce cloaks, anyway people were usually switching option to dont see enemies cloaks, because on mass pvps it gets really messy

2. daily reward system, if its not something which will totally change the game is quite good idea, i mean, i will help ppl keep logging on server, just so they can get that small boost

3. thats awesome, i actually hate that my force skills must have different icon than their usual one

4. i would vote no. since toi will be pretty much only chance to farm A (except the mini bosses or whatsoever) there will be ppl farming most of the time, so i dont think there is need for pvp event like that, which will just increase strength of biggest/strongest clan

5. i honestly hate cp pots, i hope they wont be introduced here, because it totally ruined the game. ppl started to use autoclickers for them, and who had more of them had bigger chance to win, i dont think it is necessary here, EVENTHO maybe u could think about implementing elixirs, which had similar effect (CP/HP/MP and HP/MP had shared cooldown of 5-10 mins), these elixirs have little bit of survivability, and u could use it max once per pvp, depending of your situation awareness, it could save u from dying or giving u that 2 more skills to finish important enemy and win fight

 

from what i see what u wrote, this update will be total blast and i cannot wait for it :D  hopefully u will advertise it (and players also), and ppl will see how epic this will be, also like some changes u did, we will see how it will end like, but REALLY GOOD JOB ;) 

Not sure about the limit on Dyes to +5 - This seems a tad unfair to some classes like archers who use a lot of STR to keep up with mage damage. 

​trust me, with this limitation mages will suffer much more than any other char, and it will balance them a bit

 

ps: wanted to ask if there is going to be change to normal bosses, because ive read somewhere they were changed to go frenzy after 15? mins of killing, so if we are going to get this as well or no

1. Cloaks look very bad with c/b/a sets i totaly dont like it. I would agree to give CL bonuses of cloak to pasive skils or smth  but plz dont make the cloaks.
2. Good idea, plz make it like very small ch ance but good reward, not useles rewards like from events ;), or some exp/sp scrols +6% or smth.
3. TOTALLY AWESOME IDEA. I would love to have skills with /force and i wouldnt have to see these crappy god icons..
4. I dont think its necessary. I guess too much work for u and too little reward for server. Better make Global Event than this ;)
5. I always hated cp pots, especially when they were for aa and very expensive. Always made big advantage for rich players over new commers. Imagine ppl making new char with +8 d weapon and 200 cp pots(eahc cp pot healing half of cp) new ppl wont have chance to pvp cost wont have adena for cp pots. Also effect of cp ports was way too high compared to hp pots etc. Ppl wil start toi use cp clickers etc. If u rly have to implement cp pots make it heal for 50-100 cp, not 200+50(big + smal potion), or just increase delay between them to 2-3s instead of 1 s like it was before. Also make it being able to use automatically like soulshots ( i saw such feature on some server), so ppl wont mess up with iullegal programs

cloaks shut be only visual staff, and from all castles. light,darkness gludio or dion . do not make only two clans be some unusual in server.

no any a grade parts,or full agrade drops from any other mobs or raids,as only boium.other way its be too easy .... and we ask you make other update before you be copleted this one :D

cp potionsi bad idea. it says is heavy, but many classes can lift much more then other ones.... its bad idea. + making ppl to use cp clicker, you cannot put any security for it. si many versions of them.,just will ban more ppl for think you maked them use

talismans system is no neccesary here .just oen more think to use before pvp or farm..... its makes ppl borring.-better delete this idea.

+5 dyes idea is great!!!! its make more ballances, and pvp's longer last.

Olymp works different. not like this. same rune system. You can buy sealed rune in CH. ~80k adena

TOI with common mobs =\ RB with A grade =\ No quest for blood fabric to unseal A grade. =\

No clan bonus system for Login and killing mobs.

​thats why its called classic club 2.0 update and not L2 classic korean/russian official update. We never said we would follow exactly same updates.

1) I like cloaks but not make them have op stats. 

2) good idea , maybe with points you can buy some buff scrolls for easier solo xp

3)i think some people dont want to show their skillbars , i think its okay like it is now. no big change though

4) i dont know what to say about it, im neutral.

5)no cp pots for the reasons everyone above explained already.

This update sounds amazing , it rly got me excited and good thing you dont follow this korea classic stuff! Continue the good work guys!

Now the stuff open to discussion that we want to hear your opinion about and see the reactions to understand if we should add them or not.

 

1) Cloak of Light and Cloak of Darkness.

This was added for castle lords of giran and aden. We do not understand why only for this 2 castles and if we add them it will be for all castles.

Basiclly the clan who owns a castle can get this cloaks from castle to use them. Cloaks has some small stats (max cp/hp/mp. some defense stats and reflect dmg) but we are more worried about the visual part since it might look more "flashy" then what we like to see.

~ Fair point, I suggest to not add them... Cloaks just look too High Five-ish to me. Might distract new people who see them, too.

 

2) Daily reward system.

 

We were thinking about some kind of daily reward system when player every day when he logs (with 24h interval ofc) can claim some box containing some sort of consumables such as soulshots or even some special coins they can use later to buy some consumables or something around this. Nothing too big but a little something to keep ppl more interested on logging everyday. All these items would be not tradable ofc to avoid ppl logging over 9000 chars and get everything on main char.

~ Nothing to disagree with, daily rewards are fun, as long as they're not tradeable.

 

3) Macro icon showing the skill icon instead.

NCSoft made some changes on macros icons and this one might be interesting or not depending on how ppl sees it. So basically the idea is when you have a macro lets say /useskillforce Tribunal, instead of it showing the normal macro icon, it will show the skill icon but still work as a macro. This will not work if theres many skills on the macro but if theres only 1 skill or few skills it should show the first skill on the macro. We think it might be a coolish feature, not sure if totally necessary and some ppl might prefer to thave their stuff hidden when making videos and such so lets us know what u think about.

~ I think there're enough macro icons to choose from, having same icon for skill and macro may be even more confusing imo.

4) PVP zone events.

So... NCSoft made in this update some kind of pvp zone events which are quite confusing and unappealing and happen on Tuesdays (oO).

It got us thinking. On something similar but with different dates and different ways to work.

What we have in mind would be something like on the weekend when theres no siege, a zone like TOI or LOA would become a PVP zone for couple of hours, and special monsters would spawn instead or a special boss with good drops so ppl would be able to finght for it like on siege, but instead of fighting for the castle they would be fighting to assure the boss/monsters control and later the boss/monsters loot.

~ +1 on this one, non-Siege saturdays sound best.

5) CP Potions on grocery.

 

On offical CP Potions were added to grocery shop. We dont rly know what to do with it. Tho its a good idea to remove some money from game and it also opens possibility that everyone will have access to them, we are not sure if we want to add them or not.

Theres a couple of good points of having this:

  • Everyone would have access to them so pvps would prolly last a little longer.
  • They are heavy so no one would have big advantage out of this just by having lot of money cuz either way they wont be able to carry many of them in most of classes.
  • By natural stats fighter classes will be able to carry some more then mages giving then the chance to have some extra tankiness while getting in the fight.
  • It will help removing some adena from game.
  • etc...

~ Add them. As you mentioned, longer PvP = more fun.

it would be better if it was limited only to the castle lord.

however, if it's an item that all clan members can buy and wear, then i don't mind putting them in all the other castles too.

giving out free consumables to everyone may screw up a bit the economy, so i would rather not have them.

i would rather prefer to have very small amounts of Coins of Luck, like for example 1 coin for 1 day of log-in for 1 character only per accaunt, so people would be able to buy hair accessories or PAs if they manage to keep playing on this server and stay active. the rewards should start only after hitting lv40.

not interested much to be honest, especially because once people are flagged, there's no need for attackforce anymore in pvp.

they already ruined PvP in previous chronicles together with quick healing potions, so i would rather not see them in game ever again.

fighter vs fighter was reduced to who had more CP/QHP to spam, so please, please keep that shit out of this server.

Ok it there are divided opinion about it. I think that it would be the best if you can choose icon from what is now OR the skill icon. 
For me this skill icon would be the best, but I understand that for some ppl maybe it's problem. 

I think that it would b great when you get /useskillforce with normal skill icon and some description (4 letters - like it's now) on this icon.
